Dreaming and drawing with Sempé
"Träumen und zeichnen" is a lovingly crafted volume which is giving the reader a glimpse over Sempé's shoulder. The cover of the large-format gatefolded brochure is PEYPRINT java, a white natural paper with a surface texture reminding of handmade paper. It shows a sketch and the title. The fine lines in black and orange are coated with varnish, giving the impression that they are raised. The design in combination with the charmingly simple paper summarises everything that defines Sempé's art of drawing, despite of its calmness. A great book - not only for Sempé fans - and at the same time a tribute to this unique artist. Published by Diogenes Verlag.
